We celebrated EX5Tech's 10th Anniversary earlier this year at the current address and under the stewardship of Ski and other EX5 nuts.

Well today is the 10th anniversary of my first release of ex.factory. Back then it was a very simple application which only read a single S1V file, but it's grown a little since then, along with its siblings for the AN1x, FS1R, SY77 and Motif ES.

So happy birthday, ex.factory

Congratulations on your 10th, Derek! If only people knew how much effort went into this program and how useful it is...

And not to forget the "with a little help from my friends" as well, who have helped to debug things.

ex.factory has been a great - no, make that ESSENTIAL - app for anyone doing serious EX Sample/WAVE and Voice work. The 16 mb mel-labs WAVE file wouldn't even exist without ex.factory, because a bug in the EX prevents you from building such an .s1m file in the EX itself.

And that bit Derek mentioned about others "debugging"? I can't speak for others, but *I* didn't do any debugging... I was too busy using it to build actual files that you can get from our downloads page!

Wow, I can't believe it's 10 years old! Ack! I guess mel-labs must be over 10 years old, too (said the old man)!

Cheers to Derek and all who've used ex.factory!

Thanks, there's been a few people who have helped a little along the way. The memory gets a bit rusty these days, but:

Airy Andrew on OSX compatibility
Jim Atfield on OSX compatibility
Ingo Prause on checking my AN1x conversions
Gary Gregson (Yamaha UK) for providing details on the AN1 file format.

And of course all of the users who occasionally broke it and provided bug reports for fixing
