Hi everyone,
I've noticed that when I'm playing fast notes on my Desktop Evolver, it sometimes skips some of the notes.

At first, I thought that it was because the Desktop evolver is monophonic, and so it won't let me play more than one note at a time. However, on my other monosynths I do not experience "skipping notes", but the synth simply goes to the newer note.
Also, the Evolver handles most of the notes fine, even if the VCA Release is long, but occasionally it does not play some of the notes.

The dot on the Evolver panel that indicates MIDI IN does indicates that my MIDI keyboard sends all of the notes, so that's not the problem.

Anyone experiences similar issues?

This may happen if the soundprogramm isn't set to last note priority but high or low note priority instead.

Hi DocT,

Yes, I've check all Key Mode settings, nothing helps.

Is this a known issue?

No, it's not a known issue.

Maybe you can check again if the kb settings are on last note priority and envelope retrigger.

I don't have an Evolver at the moment, so I can't tell you the abbreviation for that setting.

Actually I have tried all settings for Key mode.

It doesn't really make sense, as it's nearly impossible to play the evolver as an instrument...

I've replaced the PIC to version 3.0 and it seems to have solved the problem.

BTW - the PDF for the PIC upgrade requests that I send the old 2.0 chip.
What's that about?

It sounds like there may have been a different issue here but when poly chain is "On" when you aren't poly chaining it will drop notes and not allow you to play anything with much speed. Always have polychain set to off if only using a single voice.
