hi,
I got the evolver desktop and I'm just learning to use it.
I have real trouble with saving and loading data using the soundtower editor (PC). I tried with MidiOX too. maybe someone can help:

basicly what I want to do, is saving Banks I've edited (with the "write" command -> ok) and save them on my PC to later reload them when I need them.

Now I'm a little confused with the different formats (ebp & syx) and the different ways of saving data (save all evolver data, write program, transmit bank, save program bank, save single program, initialize)

I don't think it would be any help for you to tell you everything I allready tried.
Maybe if you could just give me "a little step by step tutorial" to explain the saving process, that would be it!

Furthermore I loaded the factory presets (the ones I could load) from the dave smith page. unfortunately those were not the same sounds I had on my evolver when I bought it. well... thats a pity.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!!

First,check the midi connection.If ok,the main window should read "evolver online"

In the main window (not the one with the knobs etc),you are seing all the 4 banks with their 128 presets.To save one of them,A,B..go to the toolbar "Program -> Save Program Bank-choose where-name it ****.ebp" that's it.

To save a preset in a bank,use
1.The Evo itself.Press the "MAIN" button for 2 sec,it will start to blink.If then you press it on more time,it will write the program you edited in the memory.
2."Write" button in the "Program Edit" window-yes,the one with the knobs.You can choose where to save ,in what bank and prog number,this way.
3.The Main Window : ctrl-W(Program ->Write Program),or "Write P"

Now to load a bank,you should do 2 things:
FIRST,load the bank in the editor "Program -Load Program Bank To-A,B,C,or D ,browse for it and it's done.Let's say you want to load a bank in Bank D,for the next paragraph.
SECOND,you have to actually transmit the bank to the Evo :"Program ->Transmit Bank->D->the Transmit Program Banks window pops up-> press START,in a few seconds,the programs of that bank will be written in the EVO.
To load a preset,in the Main Window,right click on the preset position you want overwritten,and choose load program,browse,etc...then actually write it in the evo,i recommend the "main" button thing from above.
